Gig in the Goil - An Update
Unfortunately, due to current Government restrictions and the continued uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, we have made the difficult - but necessary - decision to cancel Gig in the Goil 2021.
We’re absolutely gutted, but even with the rollout of the vaccine, physical distancing is likely to be in place for some time to come, which would make the event impossible in its current format.
Furthermore, the wellbeing of our attendees, artists, suppliers & colleagues is paramount, and with new variations of the virus emerging, it would be irresponsible to plan for a full-scale 2021 event at this moment in time.
We have made the decision to roll-over our entire line-up (where possible) to next year (6th – 8th May 2022) to give our artists & fans something to look forward to. We’ll be releasing the confirmed line-up (so far) at 5pm this evening, with more to follow as we get them signed up.
Tickets will be automatically rolled over to the 2022 event for no additional cost (although full refunds are available) and we are in the process of emailing accommodation bookings with further information.
Fear not - we’re not taking the year off– Plans are already underway to deliver an exciting online/hybrid event in 2021, plus we have The Wee G on our radar, so keep an eye on our social media.
We would once again like to thank all of you for supporting the event, along with our suppliers and artists who have been very accommodating during difficult times for everyone. We can’t wait to see you for a huge party once this madness is over.
The GITG Team
Will tickets be valid for the 2022 festival?
Yes, all tickets will automatically move over to the new date, you won’t need replacement tickets.
Are tickets refundable?
Yes, if you are unable to make the new date then you can receive a full ticket refund from point of purchase. TicketWeb, Skiddle & Ticket Scotland are currently contacting all ticketholders to make them aware of this. If you purchased your tickets from Drimsynie Estate Reception, then please email firstname.lastname@example.org. All refund requests must be received by 5pm on Friday 31st March.
Will the line-up be the same?
We are working with all our artists & bands to move them over to the new date wherever possible –more than 85% of our confirmed line-up have already confirmed for 2022, including headliners Dougie Mclean, Callum Beattie Trail West.
I am booked into onsite (Argyll Holidays) accommodation for GITG, what do I do?
If you have accommodation booked for May this year, then you should receive an email from us in the coming days, with further information on moving your booking over to the new date. Where possible, this will be the same accommodation type, however on the off chance the accommodation isn’t available, our team will provide you with suitable alternatives.
If you cannot make the new date, then you are more than welcome to keep your accommodation booking for May, subject to the holiday park being open. Alternatively, we will be happy to offer you a full refund.
As we are extremely busy, we would kindly ask that you wait to receive the email regarding your accommodation before getting in touch. All our holiday homes are currently held off for that weekend, with priority bookings for existing guests, so you don’t have to worry about them selling before we contact you.
I have booked offsite (non-Argyll Holidays) accommodation, how am I affected?
If you were booked into local accommodation not operated by Argyll Holidays, then please contact your accommodation provider to discuss further. With all tickets moving over to the new date, you will still be guaranteed entry to the event.
