Gig in the Goil 2021 - Lineup Announced
We are delighted to announce full details of Gig in the Goil 2021, with the festival going online with the support of Event Scotland.
- Trail West & Heron Valley heading to Lochgoilhead
- A full weekend of live music, streamed online
- All in aid of Tiny Changes
Award-winning trad acts Trail West and Heron Valley are set to headline ‘The Virtual G’ live from the shores of Loch Goil, with more than 30 artists taking part, between 7th - 9th May.
The event – which will also feature popular tribal rockers Clann an Drumma and 2021 Scottish Traditional Musician of the Year Michael Biggins, amongst a host of fantastic talent – will be streamed, free-to-watch on Facebook & YouTube, with donations encouraged for the Tiny Changes mental health charity.
We’re delighted to have secured such a strong line-up with some of the best renowned trad acts and upcoming artists from across the country performing - It’s unfortunate we couldn’t welcome crowds, but we didn’t want to take a year off – This gives attendees the unique chance to enjoy a full weekend of festival vibes from the comfort of their own home.
Gig in the Goil is well known for giving upcoming Scottish artists a platform on their rise to stardom, with Gerry Cinnamon, Lewis Capaldi, The Snuts & Be Charlotte all gracing the stage over recent years, and we are thrilled at the backing from EventScotland’s Scotland’s Event Recovery Fund in continuing to promote rising artists.
Paul Bush OBE, Visit Scotland’s Director of Events, said: “Events play an important role in our communities as they sustain livelihoods and bring social and economic change. Event Scotland is delighted to be supporting Gig in the Goil through Scotland’s Events Recovery Fund, which is helping event organisers be innovative in their event delivery and pilot new ideas as they adapt to running events in the new norm.
We are getting set for a special weekend with a host of live sets from Lochgoilhead, along with exclusive sessions and takeovers, with ‘backstage footage’ and interviews across our social media.
